Terms of Service for Ruff

Welcome to Ruff! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ruff mobile application ("the App") provided by Sorted ("we," "us," or "our"). By using Ruff, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Eligibility and Account Creation

• Age Requirements: Ruff is designed for users aged 13 and above. Users under 13 require parental consent.
• Account Accuracy: You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• Account Security: You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• One Account Per Person: Each user may only create one account.

2. Service Description

Ruff provides:

• AI-powered chat conversations with dog companion personalities
• Six unique dog breeds with distinct personalities and communication styles
• Emotional support through non-clinical, friendly interactions
• Optional voice mode for accessibility
• Privacy-focused conversations that aren't shared with others

3. Pricing and Payments

• Free Trial: First 3 days include unlimited prompts
• Daily Limit: After trial, 10 free prompts per day
• Additional Prompts: Available through in-app purchase:
  • Paw Five: 5 prompts for $1.00
  • Play Time: 30 prompts for $5.00
  • Ruff Paradise: 100 prompts for $10.00
• Referral Program: Earn 50 free prompts for each successful referral
• Payment Processing: All payments are processed through Apple's App Store
• Refunds: Subject to Apple's refund policies

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Ruff responsibly and NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal or harmful purposes
• Attempt to manipulate, trick, or "jailbreak" the AI
• Share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Reverse engineer or attempt to access our systems
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Share your account with others

5. Content and Conversations

• Your Content: You retain ownership of your messages and conversations
• License to Us: You grant us a limited license to process your messages to provide the service
• AI Responses: AI-generated responses are for entertainment and support only, not professional advice
• No Guarantee: We don't guarantee specific outcomes from using the App

6. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Intellectual Property

• Our Property: The App, including all dog characters, designs, and AI personalities, is our intellectual property
• Limited License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal purposes
• Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from our content

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

• No Medical Advice: Ruff is NOT a medical or mental health service
• As-Is Service: The App is provided "as is" without warranties
• No Guarantee: We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• Limited Liability: Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service
• Indirect Damages: We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights.

10. Changes and Updates

• Service Changes: We may modify or discontinue features at any time
• Terms Updates: We may update these Terms with notice through the App
• Continued Use: Using Ruff after changes means you accept the updated Terms

11. Termination

• Your Right: You can delete your account at any time
• Our Right: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Effect: Termination ends your right to use the App but doesn't affect prior obligations

• Informal Resolution: We'll try to resolve disputes informally first
• Arbitration: Unresolved disputes will be settled through binding arbitration
• Class Action Waiver: You waive the right to participate in class actions
• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Sorted regarding Ruff.
